Labyrinth, Blaeberry Valley, Golden BC Walking the labyrinth in the Blaeberry valley 11 kms. west of Golden, British Columbia was a very moving experience. The "Gathering Place of Praise & Celebration" Labyrinth is the focal point for the 9th Sacred Site of the Canadian Rockies' StarGrid revealed through Mikal Elaya. This site was initiated on Mikaelmas, Archangel Mikael's Feast Day on September 29th, 2002. This picture, drawn in response to the experience of walking this labyrinth, is meant to show the powerful but balanced energies of this vortex. The labyrinth is created from quartz rocks found in the area and it has a steady, high vibration. The leaves represent the poplar trees in the area around the labyrinth. The energy drew me into the center where I experienced deep peace and love. The wind gently drew me back out of the spiral into service. Labyrinths are an ancient symbol for accessing our center, our heart, our connection and our oneness with Source. A powerful tool, it has been used by peoples in different cultures from the beginning of time. Labyrinth designs can be found all over the world. The spiral is the precursor to the labyrinth.
It is the simplest path into our center.

The classical or "cretan" labyrinth is a 7 - circuit labyrinth spirally back and forth to enter the center. The 7 paths line up with our 7 chakras, and the colours, sounds, aromatherapy, and sacred geometry associated with each chakra. Variations of this designs can be found from the Nasca Lines, to labyrinths found on islands on the outer shores of Scandinavia, Europe, China and more. |

The medival labyrinths, most often pictured by the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral, is a more complex design also based on sacred geometry. The Chartres labyrinth is very mathematically precise and a 13-point star is encompassed in this design. |
